Some have “situationships” with people. We propose one with art! Whether we like art or not, we all look at it from time to time. This fall, Art Safari and Promenada Mall Sibiu give us reasons to revisit contemporary art.

In October, at Promenada Mall
Sibiu, the Young Blood exhibition. SIBIU Art Situationship offers a contemporary artistic escapade, free from labels and constraints. Whether it’s a memorable adventure or a welcome break from your Black Friday wishlist, it awaits you from October 23rd in the space on the first floor of the Promenada Mall shopping galleries.

Ioana Tocoaie, Andrei Popa, Andra Urdea, Andrea Bernath, Cezar Stanciu, Ilie Mitrea, Constantin Fîntînă, Emanuela Hrițcu, Diana Pantea, Diana Varga, Alexandra Stoica, Robert Șimon, Ioan Muntean and Florin Viorel bring together an image of how contemporary art today experiences its own situationship with the public and with social space — between institution and street, between museum and mall, between profound and ephemeral, between contemplation and scroll, between commitment and visual play.

Amidst shop windows, advertisements and to-go coffees, Young Blood artists bring a different kind of connection: one that is sincere, unpredictable and unfiltered. Whether it is a painting, an installation, a drawing or a piece of gilded wood, each work speaks about us – about desires, fears, confusions and small revelations from everyday life.

So you don’t have to “understand art”. Just look at it, like in a complicated relationship: without expectations, but with a little curiosity!

You might end up with something real. Or at least a smile.
