Young Blood 5.0. Hello, Math!

Sept. 5 – Dec. 14

Writer Henry James (1843-1916) noted in 1896 that every good story carries with and within itself an unseen pattern: the “figure in the carpet”—a hidden structure that escapes immediate perception, but can be discovered from a distance, through contemplation of the whole. The metaphor suggests the existence of a concealed system of connections, without which meaning would remain fragmented and superficial. Hello, Math! adopts this perspective and translates it into the context of contemporary art.

The exhibition offers an interpretive framework in which mathematics becomes a supporting tool for how we look at art. Spirals, sequences, and numerical distributions outline a complex and dynamic matrix of connections between the artworks, one that can only be uncovered through attentive, calibrated, and patient observation.

Each piece, no matter how singular, is part of a universe that transcends its individual existence—a universe where mathematics provides the framework for understanding its uniqueness, through underlying, structural connections seen in their entirety.
