Exhibitions to see at Art Safari – Keep the Art Beat:

Dogs vs. Cats (May 29 – June 22)
A meeting on canvas of the most beloved pets! Dogs vs. Cats is an accessible and friendly exhibition, which brings together art, emotion and the deep attachment between people and their pets.

Once upon a time, like in stories (May 29 – June 22)
The exhibition combines the magic of visual arts with the creativity of games, bringing together works inspired by castles, princes, princesses, knights and mythological creatures, along with dioramas made of LEGO®️ pieces made in the same theme. Organized in partnership with RoLug – the LEGO®️ User Group in Romania, with the support of LEGO®️ Romania and the LEGO®️ Certified Store.

Garden of Eden (May 22 – June 29)
The reflection of pieces from the Marius Matei Ethnographic Collection in the photographs of Ukrainian visual artist Anna Senik represents a mirror of the social dynamics of the contemporary village — a testament to the changing language of communication, the search for new forms of expression, and new contexts for presenting ethnographic heritage. This approach legitimizes the age and authenticity of traditional artifacts through recovery, reinvention, and identity expression via clothing codes.

Ioan Andreescu. Truth and Imagination
Asked once what he thought of Ioan Andreescu, Nicolae Grigorescu replied: “Andreescu is the greatest artist the country has ever had, myself included. If he had lived, he would undoubtedly have become our great national artist.” (Radu Bogdan, Ion Andreescu, Meridiane Publishing House, 1961). Although he died prematurely, Ioan Andreescu is considered the most profound Romanian landscape painter, and his contribution to the transition of Romanian art into Modernism is undeniable. 175 years after the birth of the great artist, Art Safari brings together for the public, in a tribute exhibition, some of Andreescu’s most important works, scattered in museums and private collections.

Ion Țuculescu. The Inspired Genius
60 years after the seminal 1965 exhibition at Dalles Hall, Art Safari, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, undertakes the most comprehensive review and update of the work of Ion Țuculescu – doctor, researcher and rigorous scientist, but also a self-taught artist, characterised by an incomparable experimental and humanistic fervour.

Forgotten Romanian Painters
The exhibition brings together over 100 paintings by dozens of artists who have made a significant contribution to the history of Romanian art, but whose names have been lost (or deliberately omitted) over time.

Young Blood 4.0. The New Wave of Contemporary Artists
The project continues the Young Blood series, now in its 4th edition, which aims to promote the current artistic practices in Romania and to maintain the “beat” of creativity alive.

With/Against the flow. Contemporary Photographic Interventions.
The exhibition series Against the Flow presents artists living in Germany who have developed their own distinctive visual languages and are now questioning the medium of photography anew.
