The exhibition traces Nicolae Vermont’s artistic journey, set against the backdrop of the famous Belle Époque period, which still has the power to inspire fascination. Tracing the life and work of the artist, the Belle Époque reveals itself in all its complexity – both artistic and social – from concerns with progress and monumental, academically styled art to the desire to break with tradition through the innovative currents of the time.
